How To Be Cool - With Craftsmanship

I’ve been listening to a ton of podcasts on the rise and development of AI and robotics. Even as I type that, I picture Elle Woods in all her pink confidence saying, “What, like it’s hard?”

My interest in this space is twofold. First, as a business owner, I’m fascinated by the conversation around responsible AI - how it will shape (and possibly exploit) workers across industries. Second, as a designer, I can’t help but wonder what parts of my creative process could, and probably will, be outsourced to AI.

A revolution is coming, and I think it’ll leave us with two major outcomes. One: entry-level roles in nearly every field will start to disappear (that’s a story for another day). And two: the value of true artistry -  the human touch, nuance, and craftsmanship - will skyrocket.

Because when everything can be generated, what stands out are the things that can’t be replicated. The hand-thrown ceramic. The imperfect brushstroke. The design that feels lived in, not engineered.

That will become the new benchmark for showcasing wealth in interior spaces - the ability to own what a human made, not what a robot produced in bulk. That, more than anything, will define taste and style.

So get ahead of the curve. Seek out pieces that are hand-made, antique, and one of a kind. Curate your home with intention, so when mass production becomes the default, your space still tells a story - your story - one that can’t be replicated by code or factory line.
